Scouts Win

After Towcester cancelled the fixture early in the week due to a number of players dropping out (injuries and Covid) they managed to pull it back to field a team.

Making the trip with only 10 players, Towcester made made use of a number of Scouts players to allow the fixture to go ahead.

Scouts started strong, scoring in the first minute through Alex Billing dotting down in the corner. Three minutes later, after a strong run, Ben Jones crossed taking Scouts 10 points clear. Towcester dug in with a strong defensive effort, holding Scouts back for the rest of the half and pulling ed themselves level, scoring two tries in the last three minutes of the half.

After reflecting at half time, Scouts came out of the blocks firing on all cylinders, with Ethan Clough scoring an excellent break from the kick-off but Towcester replied 2 minutes later bring the scores level (15-15).

Scouts dominance came through with a further tries from Dan Addision (28 minutes), Ben Jones (29 minutes), Ethan Clough (34 minutes) and a final score from Zac Canuti who was well positioned to take a difficult pass before breaking the line to score in the corner. (35-15)

Thank you to Oliver Swannell, Logan Hillery, Lawrence Amuzu and Jack Hancock all taking it in turns to play for Towcester.

This weeks player of the match goes to Dan Addison who played fly-half for the first time and gave a very good account of himself.

Congratulations to Ben Hardwick who was awarded his first Junior cap.
